Option: 12:30-12:45 Bag Lunch break for students continuing on to Theatre Rehearsals at 1:00.

NEW AGE GROUP: Students who have completed 2 grade through 6th grade are invited to register.

COST: $150

LOCATION: Cambridge Middle School Art Room             

For students registering for both art and theatre, there will be a 50% discount on the art fee.

Our Programs this year include some EXCITING PROJECTS!

 Art - Description of Concepts

Our art projects change every year and are chosen by the instructor. Although the descriptions might sound mundane, children will be learning these concepts through fun and challenging art projects. The first day is usually an "intro" day where the students learn something basic and each day thereafter, they apply that basic knowledge to more challenging and exciting work.  

The  Art class is open to students who have completed  grades 2 through grade 6.  The class will run from 11:30-12:30 Monday-Thursday.  This is designed so that the oldest ages  have time for a quick lunch break and be ready to participate in the afternoon LLP and Jr. Troupe theatre rehearsals if they are registered.

Week 1 – Drawing I

Students learn the basics of drawing using neutrals of black and white with a variety of mediums. Working on learning the study of value, contrast and color wheel concepts through a variety of projects that the instructor has chosen.

Week 2 – Drawing and Painting II

Fundamentals of drawing and painting continue using a variety of mediums.  Children are encouraged to advance their compositions integrating the new knowledge of value, contrast and color. Students learn to use “mixed media” in their creativity.

Week 3 – 3D Design

Through a variety of mediums, students will have a chance to work in 3D. This might include paper, cardboard, clay, pipecleaners, etc. The class will then show their finished projects before the performance of the LLP during the last class on Share Day.  This is an important day for our junior artists so please make sure parents, family and friends can attend.

***PLEASE NOTE: ART is held at the Cambridge Middle School in the art room. There will be signs on the doors directing students to the art room.
