About the program
Over the years, we have had many students from North Branch be part of our older programs. Knowing there might be interest, we are now offering a program in North Branch for our younger students. This program isn't exclusive to North Branch students, but was created knowing that getting the younger kids to Cambridge is a challenge for some families.
This branch of the Little League Players is open to students who have completed K up through 6th grade, who will be at least age 6 (or turning 6 by Sept. 1, 2025). We rehearse in the mornings beginning the last day of June and continuing through the middle of July. This program is designed to introduce students to theatre, help develop performing skills for returning students, and cultivate a foundation for being on stage that the students can carry into the middle school program. We rely heavily on theatre games and play in this program, all the while rehearsing a short youth musical.
Imagine a world where all weapons were replaced by musical instruments! Welcome to the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table like you've never seen it or heard it before. On guard! This is the world of Joust! A Mighty Medieval Musical.
There are no formal auditions in this group, but parts are determined by student interest and confidence shown in the early days of the program.
Performance/Share Day
The students in Little League Players will showcase their hard work at our performance on the final day of the program, July 17th. Participants arrive at the regular 9 am time to do a final dress rehearsal, followed by some games and activities to get their nervous jitters out! We welcome family and friends to watch the performance at 11 am at Trinity Lutheran Church/Phoenix Academy. There is no cost to attend, but we gladly accept free will donations. After the Little League Player portion of the event, the audience will get a “sneak peek” at the work being done by our other programs: Finding Nemo, Jr. and Guys and Dolls. The performance concludes with the Little League Players returning to the stage one final time to close their season with the song “I Sing the Body Electric.” This song is one that concludes ALL Summer Youth Theatre productions.
Registration closes on May 2nd or when the program is full.
